living with full modern amenities ... on a beautiful and charming mountain
vista with a million dollar view ... located in beautiful Golden Valley
Township, northeastern Rutherford County, North Carolina. Southern Comfort ,
at its 2200 foot elevation is perched for cooler summer climates with a
scenic view of Golden Valley.
Southern Comfort is fully stocked with linens, cooking utensils, microwave,
air conditioning, and satellite television with DVD. Outside, relax on the
spacious rear porch that wraps around the home. This area is perfect for a
quiet sunrise breakfast, an afternoon read on porch or in the loft or an
intimate sunset glass of wine.
Southern Comfort
welcomes pets on a case by case basis.
When you arrive, you’ll
find the beds freshly made with crisp linens and soft, fresh towels in the
baths. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils and the
refrigerator and pantry will already be partly stocked.
Southern Comfort boasts a large welcoming living area with a gas-burning
fireplace, vaulted ceilings, two queen suites, a washer and dryer, an
outdoor bar-b-q grill and a cooking kitchen for the creative chef. Enjoy
brilliant sunsets from the rear and side view decks.
Smoking is welcomed on the outside porches.
Accommodations include
two king suites, with two full baths, for sleeping up to four people and two
more folks can be accommodated on the new sleeper sofa in the living room
and futon in the game room with another full bath if
desired. Beautiful pine log walls and vaulted ceilings showcase this
comfortable mountain home away from home.
Southern Comfort is
privately owned was built in 2008 with the purpose of escaping to the beauty
and serenity of the North Carolina Mountains. We hope your stay at Southern
Comfort will provide you with special memories that are waiting to be made.

Hickory, NC and Greenville/Spartanburg, SC.
The surrounding area is extraordinary. Our Blue Ridge Mountains vacation
rental has the perfect location; enjoy your privacy, while still remaining
conveniently close to town. Explore beautiful local attractions, like
Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and gorge, Linville Caverns, the Blue
Ridge Parkway, Little Switzerland, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, South
Mountain State Park, Lake James and Lake Lure ... all within a 45 minute
scenic drive or less.
Take a leisurely drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in the
stunning mountains and wildlife. Enjoy bird watching, antiquing, wineries,
and more. If you're the more adventuresome type, try boating, hiking, or
mountain biking.
